Joseph Ouedraogo Technical Attaché
My name is OUEDRAOGO Joseph, I joined the World Customs Organization (WCO) in September 2019 as a Technical Attaché in the Value Sub-Directorate. My home administration is Burkina Faso Customs.
Prior to working at the WCO, I served in my administration for 21 years (since November 1998). I held a variety of positions, most recently as Deputy Director of Customs Legislation and Regulations. Between 2010 and 2013, I was a trainer, then Director of Studies and Training at the Burkina Faso National Customs School. I continued to teach the customs valuation course from then until I left for the WCO. In 2012, I was accredited as an expert trainer in customs valuation for the WCO's West and Central Africa (WCA) region.
As part of the Secretariat's technical assistance and capacity-building activities, I was asked to co-facilitate national customs valuation training workshops with WCO experts for the customs administrations of the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2015, Togo in 2016 and Niger in 2019.
The Regional Training Centre (RTC) in Ouagadougou has involved me in two training workshops on customs valuation. A national workshop in Niamey, Niger in 2018 and a workshop for the WCA region held at the RTC of Ouagadoudgou in 2019.
I hold a master's degree in economics with a major in private enterprise management, obtained in 1995.
